It is often said that there are two sides to every story…I don’t share this view. There are several sides to a story, depending on the subject matter of course.
This blog emanated from a group project – a digital campaign for a client who offers bespoke tailoring services in Cardiff, Wales. They are called Hawkes Bespoke Outfitters.
Being the over thinker that I am, my first instinct was to write about things that go beyond the visuals like all the fancy clothes and the labels. I wanted also to go beyond physique of the models in menswear. But because this is a blog, I was advised to balance things, so I’ll also share my thoughts on some of the lighter things. I will also look at things like the history of the bespoke tailoring business, how it has progressed, and trends etc. you know…the stuff we have come to expect.
Among the many blogs, I intend to post, readers will find a mixture of both these aspects of men’s fashion – the glitz and glamour of menswear and the issues affecting men in the industry. Basically, you will see the sexy and unsexy aspects of the men’s fashion industry.
Anyone who knows me well, know I am big on reading and I think people miss out on enriching perspectives when they don’t read, or what I like to term, ‘flex their mental muscles.’ To that end, I included a section called ‘Real Men Read’, because this blog was initially for a male audience (the title of the page may change). I would have accomplished my mission if I get even one man to read a chapter of something.
After the digital campaign comes to a close, I will be addressing other issues. I plan to address each subject of interest from different angles over a 4-6 week period, hence, in two weeks, the topic will no longer be limited to fashion.
Welcome to my blog!
